YouTube 100 Million Red Diamond Button

YouTube has created a brand new award to celebrate the king of YouTube himself, Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg, for breaking the 100 million subscriber threshold, along with T-Series.

Previously, the highest award a YouTuber could receive was the Custom Play button given by the platform to streamers who amassed 50 million subscribers. PewDiePie himself was the first to reach this milestone on December 18, 2016.

Now YouTube has unveiled a new Red Diamond Creator Award.

Both PewDiePie and T-Series have been confirmed to own Red Diamond.

The tweet included a video showing the award, which looks incredibly beautiful.

Pugh broke the 100 million subscriber threshold on August 24 and was the first individual creator to do so. Part of his channel's growth was a result of the Swedish "PewDiePie vs. T-Series" feud, which saw the YouTube community rally behind Felix against the Indian corporation. This led to the creation of the "Lasagna Bitch" video, in which PewDiePie insults T-Series before later apologizing for the joke and calling off the feud.

Despite losing the war with the Indian by reaching 100 million first, PewDiePie returned to his gaming roots and uploaded daily Minecraft videos, which resulted in a surge in additional subscribers.

It's been quite an arduous journey for the 29-year-old internet phenomenon, who first started working on YouTube back in 2006 and officially launched his second account as PewDiePie in 2010.

One has to wonder how YouTube will honor the first content creator to reach 150 million followers. Until then, the Red Diamond Creator Award will be the most prestigious and likely to remain so for some time to come.
